Yes, I'm pleased w/the Gagne trade if only b/c you can never have enough good pitching and if the Sox have a lead late in a game (or even in the 6th)it's gonna be pretty tough beating a series of Delcarmen, Okajima, Gagne, Paplebon.

That being said (and being a Sox fan long enough to always see the dark side of things) I'm concerned about the failure to get a right handed power threat off the bench a la Dye b/c Willy Mo is always a strike out waiting to happen (did s w/the bases juiced and 1 out last night when one hit could have changed the whole complexion of the game).

But Theo did not give up the best prospects (Ellesbury, Buchholz, or even Lester) to get Gagne, and Gagne can still pitch. He may not be as dominant as he was back in the day but he's still pretty tough w/an ERA under 3...

Gotta make that deal if you';re the Sox.
